As part of the restoration project for the 1905 Bizetz Bridge in Giurgiu, Rhabillage developed a series of complementary actions designed to reconnect the local community with a significant industrial heritage landmark.
The first addressed local schools, engaging approximately 200 students through presentations introducing architectural heritage, the history and technological qualities of the bridge, and possible approaches to its future valorisation. A second invited children to interpret the bridge through drawing, with selected works reproduced as postcards, and the winners chosen through public voting on social media. A third opened a concrete restoration decision to community participation: residents could guess the historic shade of grey of the bridge and choose the closest one from a range established through stratigraphic research.
Together, the actions combined heritage education, creative interpretation, digital participation and community decision-making, creating different entry points for citizens to understand, interpret and actively contribute to the future of their local heritage.
