On people
and places
With 20 years of experience in cultural and community-led initiatives, Rhabillage is an interdisciplinary organisation working at the intersection of cultural heritage, place, participation and sustainable development.
Originating as a volunteer-based group in 2006 and formally established as an association in 2008, we bring together research, creative practice and public engagement to translate specialised knowledge into accessible experiences, new tools and meaningful connections between people and places.
Our work focuses on integrating cultural heritage into sustainable urban and rural development, with particular attention to the social dimensions of transformation.
We combine heritage research and documentation with artistic interpretation, heritage education, participatory processes and knowledge translation, connecting researchers, practitioners, public institutions, creative professionals and local communities.
our practice
of collaboration
Rhabillage develops and contributes to collaborative projects that connect heritage, local development and community participation, while building bridges between local actors, institutions, creative ecosystems and European professional networks..
Our experience includes multistakeholder engagement, cross-sectoral and cross-cultural cooperation, participatory planning and co-design, capacity building, strategic communication and heritage valorisation. Our practice is closely aligned with the New European Bauhaus values of sustainability, inclusion and beauty.
By connecting cultural knowledge with creative practice and contemporary societal challenges, we contribute to context-responsive development solutions that strengthen local identity and social placemaking.
